Type Locality and Naming
In the Gazdagan gorge, southwest Gissar. M.R. Jalilov, 1968 (190, p.43). Stratotype on the southern slope of the Gazdagan gorge. Lowermost formation in Газдаганинская св.
Synonym: Gazdagan Suite, Газдаганинская св.
Lithology and Thickness
At the bottom, dark gray clays with rare interlayers of limestones (thickness 25-80m); at the top - gray, ferruginous clays (thickness 3-35m).
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It lies conformably on the Tagarin Fm (widespread) or Akmechet Fm (South Gissar)
Upper contact
It is conformably overlain by the Talhab Fm (or Chashmaobzan Fm).
Regional extent
Southwest Gissar, Babatag ridge.

Contains ammonites - Karamaites aktaschense Iljin, Mediasiceras lenaticulare (Lupp.), Calycoceras batyophalum Kossm., Metoicoceras bifurcatum Iljin, Sciponoceras romanovskii (Arkh.), Borrisiakoceras mirabile Arkh.; marine bivalve mollusks - Spondylus balakhanensis Bobk., S. likhatschevi Bobk., Korobkovitrigonia darwaseana (Rom.); gastropods - Caucasella caucasicum Pčel., Perrisoptera fragilis Dzhal. et Arust.; foraminifers - Haplophragmoides turonicus Zhuk,, Gaudryinopsis asiaticus N.Byk., G. akrabatensis (Zhuk.), Brotzenella berthelini Kell., Gümbelitria cenomana (Kell.); ostracods - Cytherella elegans Andrv., Schuleridea atraxa Mand., Brachycythere dotata Mand.
